Solstice & Ash exists because we believed outdoor living deserved better than mass-produced metal bowls and seasonal catalogue furniture.
Founded 2019
Born from a winter terrace in Prague.
Our founders — a product designer and a materials engineer — spent years trying to find outdoor firepits that matched the interiors they had spent so long curating. What they found instead were thin-walled imports, rust-prone finishes, and generic forms that looked uninspired after a single season.
So in the winter of 2019, working with a small cast-iron foundry in the Czech Republic, they developed the first Ember Cast prototype. It was heavier than anything else on the market, simpler in form, and designed to develop a natural character over years of outdoor use.
The name Solstice & Ash came from something more personal: the solstice fire gathering that had become an annual tradition for both families — the moment when outdoor space stops being ambient and becomes the centre of the evening.

Every piece we sell is chosen for longevity, not trend cycles. We work exclusively with cast-iron, spun copper, and forged steel — materials that improve with age and use.
European Sourcing
Our foundry partners are based in the Czech Republic and Germany. We visit them. We know their process. We share your commitment to quality before a single firepit leaves their workshop.

We do not use urgency tactics or manufactured scarcity. Our products speak through their weight, their finish, and the evenings they make possible.
Considered Growth
Solstice & Ash ships across five EU countries today. We will expand when we can do so without compromising delivery times, packaging quality, or the care we put into each order.
The Making
From raw iron to your garden.
Each Solstice & Ash firepit begins as a pattern drawing. Sand casting, heat treatment, hand finishing, and final quality inspection — all happen in-house at our partner foundry before anything is packed for delivery.
